Anne McCaffrey

One of my childhood/adolescent/current favorites, Anne McCaffrey has died.

This blog/post/article says things much better than I can:

Thanks for saying things so well.

During her career, Mrs. McCaffrey wrote over 80 published works in Fantasy, Short-Story, and Science Fiction. She was awarded the Hugo, Nebula, named a Grand Master by the Science Fiction Writers of America, Inducted into the Science Fiction Hall of Fame, was the first woman science-fiction author to make the NY Times Bestseller list, and was awarded the Margaret A Edwards award by the ALA for lifetime acheivement in writing for young people.

More on awards later. Thanks for understanding. 🙂

This is so sad. McCaffrey was an amazing writer.

This is incredibly sad new. I saw it earlier and I knew it would upset many people. I have never personally read one of her books, but I know many people who read and love them! She will be missed.

Are you out there? Hello? Anyone? (Thanks for reading! )
